Most recently, I navigated the creative chaos at a generative AI startup, Ikigai, that helps people with forecasting and planning the future of their business.
At Airtable, I was on the team that designed an app creation experience that lets anyone build custom collaborative applications without having to code. I also worked on building virtuous engagement loops powered through comments and notifications to help with self-serve growth.
I spent most of my time thinking about modernizing Excel, about time since it's been around for 30+ years. Working on a veteran product came with its challenges but the scale was humbling. I was focused on making Excel feel less intimidating and empowering users to automate their everyday workflows. I am still very proud of Microsoft's mission.
I was in the Design for Interactions masters program at Carnegie Mellon University. I learned to think about wicked problems, interconnected systems, and to critically think about worldviews, including my own. It didn't take long to realize that I had a myopic way of looking at problems. I developed a holistic approach to designing interactions between people and products through research-based design. I am very grateful for this experience.
I have a bachelor's in Industrial Design from MIT Institute of Design. Back in India, I worked as a Human Factors Specialist at Human Factors International, a design consultancy. Learned how to practice user-centered design and had the opportunity to work on projects in close partnership with clients like Oracle Financial Services, Star India, and Weatherby Bank to name a few. It was a pure joy to come to work with colleagues who always motivated, supported, and helped each other grow.
